Shows
Sharing ideas, techniques and experiences with other artists has long been a priority in my development as an artist and a citizen of the art community. I am able to do this through shows, workshops and this web page. Showing one's art brings great satisfaction, and in trying to reach as many people as possible, is critical to that process.

Shows are a great motivator.  I would suggest that anyone commit to a show and just see what happens.  You will amaze yourself!  Starting that process with a group of artists, or even a two-person show with a central theme, is a valuable attainment.

I have three shows this year but do not have the dates finalized at this time.

Carlton Gallery,info@carltonartgallery.com, 140 Aldridge Road, Banner Elk, NC, 28604 keeps my work out for view all year.  Toni Carlton also displays my work in public buildings in the area throughout the year.

I have been fortunate in 2006 to be included in several group shows outside of the United States: Geneva, Switzerland, two in Seoul, Korea and one in Beijing, China.  I have been included in the 2007 roster also.

I will update this site as soon as I have the details.

"Romancing Your Muse"

A 3-day workshop with artist Vae Hamilton

This workshop is about finding your artistic direction and the time to go there.  It's about fun collage, painting techniques, and letting go and enjoying the process.

Vae will be showing you how to prepare your canvas or board with mat and gloss mediums and help you create new and exciting textures using unconventional techniques.  The class will be coloring tissue papers, preparing collage material with magazine pages and metal polish, creating pealed-paper backgrounds, and learning photo transfer methods using family and friend's photos.  Vae is anything but traditional, so if you are in a rut and want to step out or just want to investigate an old friend called collage, you'll be fully inspired!

Tuition:  $150.00.  Supply List will be provided.
